Why do we obsess about getting fit but remain stagnant?

Published by under Diet Journal

I don’t know about you but I have been trying to get fit in the past year or so.  I tried diets, exercise, and even go as far as not eating at all when I absolutely have to just to lose the weight?  I know gay guys obsess about this because we enjoy seeing men’s bodies in super-fit form.  But why do most of us fail to get back and stay being fit?  Why do programs that we take fail?  The secret: We don’t know how to track our progress in a way that will keep us motivated.

I know me.  If I see the improvement, I will continue to follow the regimen.  Until I do so (which probably will not be noticeable to you if you are not tracking your progress), I will normally give up after a couple of weeks.

If you are really serious about getting fit and need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, you need to track your progress.  Many of us already know that it based on our calorie intake whether we gain or lose weight.  Yet, most of us don’t want to deal with counting the calories we are taking in.  Why?  Because most of us think that it’s too tedious and not worth paying attention to.

What if you are given a calorie counter online that will allow you to plug in the amount you consume.  It will make it easier for you to track your diet and gain a higher success rate in dieting.  It is effective and just like any goals, if written down – you can expect to make it a reality.

The free calorie counter works with any diet that you are into – be it the South Beach Diet, Atkins, The Zone and many others.  You can join the message boards for support in motivating you to continue the diet without and you can speak or connect to people that is going through the same thing  you are going through.

The free calorie chart is something that you can use in conjunction with their calculator to determine your goal and what calorie intake you need to have in order to achieve it.  As an example, I needed to lose at least 20 lbs.  By plugging in my weight, my age, and my height, the amount of workout I expect to do – from sedentary to aggressive, I was given a total of 1200 calories that I can consume.  In order to lose the weight I intend to reach my goal, I needed to burn 690 calories a week by doing a 3-day – 30-minute workout.  Not bad huh?

If I start the journal, I would be even more aggressive because I could show the results and be encouraged by doing so.    As many successful men and women will tell you – if you want to reach your goal on anything – write it down!

Latte or Espresso

Published by under Latte or Espresso

The smell of coffee – hmmmm!! We are all coffee lovers right? I like my cafe latte with no foam. How do you like yours?

The other day, I left work early to meet a colleague and we decided to go to Starbucks for a cup of coffee. We just need to catch up and talk about things that are happening in my life right now. He is a very good friend of mine and he’s straight by the way. He has known that I’m gay for about ten years now and he has accepted me exactly as I am and treated me the way he treated me before he even knew that I am gay. I love him for that.

Anyway, I recently broke up with my boyfriend of four years so I knew that we had lots to talk about. I normally don’t drink espresso but this time, I knew we were in the conversation for the long haul. He was very patient with me and just let me talk while he listened. I think that is what broken-hearted people do – they need someone to listen. They don’t need advice because what’s done is done and they can pretty much figure out for themselves what is good for them. I appreciated that he just listened to me. What I didn’t know was that the espresso kicked in and I was sounding more happy than sad. I was bouncing off the wall but I loved it.

Now I can’t think of anything to drink at a coffee house except espresso. It has a different kick to it and although it is not cafe latte, I enjoyed it so much I started pricing espresso machines. Yes!! It is good to have an espresso in the middle of a lazy afternoon specially now that winter is near. Wouldn’t it be nice if I could make my own espresso at home and sit by the window sill and watch the snow come down? Sheesh – - I am longing for winter and espresso now.

Anyway, I just had to write it down so I can remember the feeling of how good the espresso and the conversation was that I had with my buddy. It may not be the espresso but at least I could always refer back to this post and relive this moment. Nice huh?!
