An email worth receiving…

I was worn out today. Just tired and wanted to sleep but really couldn’t so I decided to blog. While checking my emails, I received an email from my sister. I don’t usually read forwarded emails - as a matter of fact, it annoys me. But this one was different in a way that the email was really uplifting. I imagined every word and every sentence written and I actually felt it. It was amazing and I cannot wait. Try to picture it yourself and see what it does to you.

Read the message below:
You are in your car driving home. Thoughts wander to the game you want to see or meal you want to eat, when suddenly a sound unlike any you’ve ever heard fills the air. The sound is high above you. A trumpet? A choir? A choir of trumpets? You don’t know, but you want to know. So you pull over, get out of your car, and look up. As you do, you see you aren’t the only curious one. The roadside has become a parking lot. Car doors are open, and people are staring at the sky. Shoppers are racing out of the grocery store. The Little League baseball game across the street has come to a halt. Players and parents are searching the clouds. And what they see, and what you see, has never before been seen. As if the sky were a curtain, the drapes of the atmosphere part. A brilliant light spills onto the earth. There are no shadows. None. From whence came the li ght begins to tumble a river of color spiking crystals of every hue ever seen and a million more never seen. Riding on the flow is an endless fleet of angels. They pass through the curtains one myriad at a time, until they occupy every square inch of the sky.North.
South.
East.
West.Thousands of silvery wings rise and fall in unison, and over the sound of the trumpets, you can hear the cherubim and seraphim chanting, Holy, holy, holy. The final flank of angels is followed by twenty-four silver-bearded elders and a multitude of souls who join the angels in worship.

Presently the movement stops and the trumpets are silent, leaving only the triumphant triplet: Holy, holy, holy. Between each word is a pause. With each word, a profound reverence. You hear your voice join in the chorus. You don’t know why you say the words, but you know you must. Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet. The angel’s turn, you turn, the entire world turns and there He is. Jesus. Through waves of light you see the silhouetted figure of Christ the King. He is atop a great stallion, and the stallion is atop a billowing cloud. He opens his mouth, and you are surrounded by his declaration: I am the Alpha and the Omega.
The angels bow their heads. The elders remove their crowns. And before you is a Figure so consuming that you know, instantly you know: Nothing else matters. Forget stock markets and school reports. Sales meetings and football games. Nothing is newsworthy. All that mattered, matters no more…. for Christ has come.

Now, wasn’t that amazing?!

His name is Matthew.

Published by gaychristians under His name is Matthew

No, not the disciple Matthew silly. I was blog hopping just now and stumbled upon a blog that featured this man who creates videos on Youtube.com. Well, he’s not just a young man - he is cute, intelligent and creates thought-provoking videos. I only know his name as Matthew. I was amazed at his candidness and wit. He is a homosexual and he answers all sorts of questions posted for him via his videos. Take a look at the video samples below.

Should you or shouldn’t you?

Published by gaychristians under Education

If you think, right now - a college degree is the new high school diploma. Masters or MBA is the new college diploma. Why? Most of my friends have gone back to school to take their Masters or MBA so that they can compete fairly in the corporate world.

The new trend now is to earn your college degree just to get into the decent paying jobs out there. Most of the companies hiring these days require a college degree as a minimum. So if you are in high school and contemplating whether you should go to college, I would say go for it. Nothing can prepare you more in the real world other than your college education.

I had to stop going to college when I came to the U.S. because I didn’t have the means. College is and has always been expensive. But, when I realized that I am not getting anywhere with my company because of my lack of a degree, I decided to go back to college. I have completed my Associates Degree last Spring and now going to Rutger’s University in New Jersey.

If you need help in filling out your college application essays, don’t fret. There are lots of available online help that you can go to for answers. They will assist you in getting admitted to the college of your choice. I am still a few credits shy of getting my degree but I am getting there no matter what. So, I encourage you to go. You will never regret it.

Sometimes it takes someone else to help us come out…

My coming out as being gay wasn’t a party at all. It wasn’t even anything eventful. My cousin’s husband pretty much outed me beyond my control. He somehow had the nerve to tell my family about my sexuality without him even knowing who I am, what I’ve been through. I thought it was very selfish and very intrusive.

After he told everyone, the next family event I had to go to was my sister’s 25th wedding anniversary. I was with my boyfriend then and I took him to the celebration. That was pretty much it. We were wearing the ‘barong tagalog’ (traditional Philippine formal men’s wear) together and everyone pretty much knew we were partners. I thought I wasn’t ready but since I know that my cousin’s husband pretty much blabbed about me (more on him later), I just had to grin and bear it. And you know what? It wasn’t bad at all. My family accepted the fact that I am gay and that my partner is someone that I love and they respected him.

Each one of us have our own coming out story. Mine wasn’t as ‘flashy’ and ‘melo-dramatic’ as others but it did happen at a time when I thought I wasn’t ready - but subconsciously, I was. When the time comes for you to come out, you’ll know. Some people came out when they were 16 or 17 or even 35 or 50. It doesn’t matter how old you are. It matters ‘how ready’ you are.

Watch J.P. come out on national TV. He’s a model. It was actually inspiring.

Opportunities that you shouldn’t pass.

Published by gaychristians under Income Opportunities

There are many ways that you can make money, decently through the internet. I recently took part in registering my blogs in many programs that provide an opportunity to review websites or products and get paid doing them. Opportunities are presented to you on a daily basis and it’s up to you if you want to take them or not.

Programs like bloggerwave provide that kind of opportunity. Many other programs do and if you are serious about earning extra money while blogging, you would be naive not to participate. It is painless and easy to write about products. Some only require 50 to 100 words to be paid. Some programs pay monthly, and others pay weekly. Just imagine the income opportunity that you can get while blogging. It’s amazing.

If you are serious in making money through the use of the internet. Don’t look any further. These are opportunities that will be here to stay. Advertisers are now looking at bloggers to be their media. A product or a website will pay you to provide your review. Start making money now and see how it goes for you.

I know, most of us probably hate the holidays…

Published by gaychristians under Holiday Blues

This is the time of year when most of us who are single just want to just skip by.  Why?  We get lonely and we make the wish that we find that perfect someone (or not-so-perfect someone) just so that we can have someone to exchange gifts with, share the fireplace with or simply cuddle with.

But life is too short to feel that way.  Don’t get me wrong.  I understand the feeling of seeing couples do the ‘normal’ things that couples do during the holidays.  Putting up a Christmas tree together, ceremonial lighting of the tree blah blah blah..  but we can live without that too!  Love is all around specially during the holidays.  Spread it around.

One thing I did one holiday season is to volunteer at a local church for homeless people.  It was a humbling experience and it was fun.  I stayed one night at the shelter and the guy that they partnered with me loves Western movies.  So we watched all the episodes of Lonesome Dove.  It was not my cup of tea but I still enjoyed the conversation.  That was it.

The next day, I saw the homeless guys get ready for work.  Yes, some of them do work and some even have cars. They just don’t have a place to live.  But they are great people too.

If you are feeling lonely this Christmas - try it it.  You will feel fulfilled like you can never imagine.
