This is a bit controversial for me. With my friend’s brother-in-law recently dying from cancer, and Randy Pausch as well (the famous professor who became known for his “Last Lecture”) - it makes you wonder howcome many people get cancer these days. I know that there has been a lot of cancer cases in the past but it has hit home most recently because I know so many people now that has cancer. An actor in the Philippines died last month due to pancreatic cancer, Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer and so did Randy Pausch. What is going on?
There is a big thing happening right now that is getting much attention since cancer has affected many people close to our lives. There is a resveratrol forum online that discusses reservatrol’s effectiveness in curing cancer. It has already been speculated but there is this one rare occasion that reservatrol will be tested publicly. Members of the forum where this is being discussed are willing to provide a large supply of reservatrol to people who have less than four months to live and “mega-dosing” the cancer out of their body. The forum is filled with information including someone who has a dog that survived cancer using reservatrol. No one knows if the experiment will work at all but I am sure that there is a lot watching on what would happen to this experiment.

I am just appalled about the news I’m hearing about cancer. It has really affected me recently because so many people in the public eye have died from it in recent months and now I’m hearing about dear friends or friends of our family that is either diagnosed or dying from cancer.
What is going on? Cancer has been around as long as I have lived and no one has really found a cure for it. It has been hanging out there like diabetes. Is there enough research being done to battle cancer? My dad died from lung cancer, my sister was diagnosed (and has been in remission - thank God!) with breast cancer.
Are we not doing enough? What can we do to find a cure?

It may be the age that I’m at. We are at the stage where we hear a lot of deaths, sickness, health issues. Joey is a good friend of mine and his father recently passed. I had no words of comfort for Joey because when my father passed, I didn’t feel anything. My father and I had been away from each other for a while and when we had the time to reconnect - we were given only a very brief moment. We had one year - then he became ill and passed.
All I could do was listen. I listened to Joey as he suddenly felt the pain of losing his dad. I felt it with him. In as much as my father and I didn’t have the chance to become close to each other, I knew in my heart of hearts that he loved me. Joey feels the same about his father. They have been away from each other for over twenty years.
This morning, I received a call from Joey and he told me about a video from GodTube.com that he received from his friends via email. He cried his heart out.
I just watched it a few minutes ago and my eyes are still bulging from the tears…read the story first and then watch the video….inspiring father and son story - what a day it will be, when we have run the race and finally meet Jesus face to face…

Okay, this may sound gross to some of you but I ran across this article on
CNNMoney and I thought it was an interesting. I was skimming through the finance section and was surprised to find out about stem cell development using the woman’s menstrual blood! Yes! It’s nothing painful, no embryos being damaged and it may be controversial but not as much as the embryonic stem cell research. The procedure will allow treatment to diseases later in life if the preserved stem cells from menstrual blood is collected and kept in a cryogenic type of storage for later use.

This is one of the reasons why I don’t try to get involved with people via online. There is a difference between meeting someone in person and knowing all the expectations already rather than speaking with someone online.
I just met someone by chance - not looking for anything. We had great conversations and all that but he has since disappeared. I wonder why? It could be the time zone difference but I used to receive off line messages on my instant messenger but not anymore. I guess “that’s how the story ended.”

Men in uniforms are just that - men in uniforms. My next door neighbor is a cop and a very nice man. He always invites me to his parties at his home and really doesn’t care at all about me being gay and all.
One time, he showed up in uniform with his Blackhawk holster and man, I almost didn’t recognize him. He looked so respectable and so clean-cut! I must admit, I have a crush on him and because he is sooo nice (and so is his girlfriend), I have become really good friends with them.
I am having a party on the 18th of July and they already said they’re gonna come. I just wish he’d show up in uniform.
