The windy city is calling me.

Published by gaychristians under Affiliates

One of the best cities I’ve visited so far lies in the midwestern United States. I have visited the city twice and I just can’t get enough of it. A friend of mine, John – has moved there and I actually drove his car to Chicago. However, when I got there, I was so exhausted that I really didn’t have much time to tour the place. I was able to see the “bean” but that was it. We went downtown but then again, I was such in a daze that nothing really stuck. All I know is that I would like to visit Chicago again and when I do, I will take one of those Chicago tours. It’s better to take a tour I guess rather than go around by myself. With a tour, I get to see the important places that people usually want to visit but don’t know how to get to it. The funniest thing that happened to me while I was there was a trip to the bakery (famous one as I was told because of the owner). There was a lady behind the counter who looked like a lady but as you get closer, you may wonder if she’s a lady or not. We had to stay at the bakery and had pastries and hot coffee just to figure out if the lady behind the counter is indeed a lady. We had fun. It’s like being at Madame Tussauds wax museum. Haha!

I found that that there are available online travel guides that I can use to maybe map my itinerary before I even go. The fares have come down a bit and it would be best for me to go soon before it really gets cold. I could also sign up for a Trusted Tours & Attractions newsletter and get myself updated automatically on available tours, specials and the like – I can even get the chance to win $150.00 Magellan’s Gift Certificate simply for signing up. Trusted Tours and Attractions offers discounted tickets to the best sightseeing tours in 23 cities across America. I better call for airline fares now. I need at least two weeks out.

The greatest commandment.

Published by gaychristians under Random Thoughts

It has never failed me.  The stand that I took way back when to follow one commandment and one commandment only has saved me in so many ways that I can’t even describe.  The words that Jesus spoke, “Love your God with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul; and your neighbor as yourself.”  has resonated with me.  It speaks loud and clear to me that in every situation, I simply ask myself if I am disobeying this commandment.  If I am about to divert from it, I simply hear the small voice inside me telling me that I shouldn’t move forward.

I am so ever grateful to Brother Eddie Fitzpatrick, wherever you are.  I know that it has been years since I last spoke to you but if ever by chance, you run into this blog, please know that I still think about you and the guidance and wisdom you imparted with me many many years ago.

God bless you Bro. Eddie!
