An aggregator – - at last!

Published by gaychristians under Random Thoughts

This is not the only blog I run.  I run another blog which is a celebrity website.  Do you know how hard it is to be a celebrity blogger?  Your contents must be fresh, DAILY and if you miss one day, your traffic could suffer significantly.

I surf the internet all the time to find content and it was getting too much.  I wanted to be able to show my content to people who are interested in celebrity news.  More like the way blog portals work.  They log in and they find all the content they want about celebrities in one site.

I submitted my blog to an aggregator.  Normally an aggregator automatically collects information about the topic of your site. Whether your blog is a celebrity blog, a health and beauty blog or whatever – it collects the information for you and presents them in your blog.  The one I joined is more like a community aggregator.  It will group together all the related blogs and present them in a way where the readers don’t have to visit all the blogs and sites where the topic originated from. Instead, they go to one site and read all the topics they are interested in from one site.  Check out mine here.

A day in the life of a Gay Christian..

Published by gaychristians under Random Thoughts

You would think after all these years, I wouldn’t be affected by the jokes I hear about being gay.  I have straight friends who know I’m gay and they are pretty respectful when it comes to that.  But when we hang out with THEIR friends, they cannot control what their friends joke about.  Even a simple, “That’s so gay!” remark gets me.  I don’t know.  Maybe I’m being too sensitive lately but I am having a hard time with hit.

One of my friends who is a cop, went to the extent of warning his straight friends about saying anything or making a joke about gays when he and his wife invited me to their party.  Everyone respected it.  I actually felt uncomfortable that no one was joking or saying anything about it… so I had to start.  And when I started, they felt more at ease and really – I had a great time.

So what’s the difference?  I don’t know.  These are two separate occasions that are similar but I was offended in one and not the other.  Am I losing my mind?
