God is good; all the time! Baby you’re a firework! PS 22 Chorus at the Oscars.

Published by under Random Thoughts

It was just last night when I wrote about how I was feeling down and not really feeling joyful about life. It’s about relationships, about life and just simply everything going on around me right now.

I was feeling rejected by a guy whom I have shown interest in. We had a great time together at one time, but then all of a sudden I felt like I was being pushed away. Believe me, that’s not the first time that I have been rejected. I’ve been rejected many times and there are valid reasons for each one of them. I learned from every experience and it has made me become a better person and better at dealing with emotions and relationships.

Even as a Christian, it’s hard to stay positive all the time.

Published by under Random Thoughts

If you have been a regular reader here or simply arriving at my blog for the first time, you may have noticed already that I usually blog about positive things.  Most Christians simply have that kind of joy in their hearts that at times, the feeling is hard to contain.  You can visibly see how gentle and loving they are.  Besides, Jesus himself said – “All men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:35

But even as Christians, we go through life dealing with everything that non-Christians go through.  We get moments in our lives that we are down as well and need some cheering up.  Life will not always be rosy.  I just think that Christians are better equipped dealing with depression, loneliness or tragedy.  It’s because we have someone higher than us whom we can cling to or turn to.

Let your light shine. Simple but profound.

Published by under Random Thoughts

16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 5:16

I may have blogged about this before but it was still the first thing that came to mind yesterday when I heard the gospel.  The priest had a good story as well and during the story is when I remembered my own story.

Sometimes, little things we do that we think don’t matter to anyone can profoundly affect one’s life.  “How so?”,  you may ask.

Years and years ago, I lived in New York with my sister.  I was recently out of a job then and stayed home and helped out with her kids when she went to work.  At the same time, she had a tenant that lived below us.  A simple immigrant girl who didn’t know much about life in the United States but was steadfast in her faith.  I got to know her and she still is a friend of mine today.  In fact, I am a godfather to her daughter.

When I arrived in the US, and finished all  my stints at the seminary and all – I was a bit discouraged and stopped going to church for a while.  I haven’t been back to church when one Sunday during the summer, I saw this girl walk out of her apartment and walked all the way to church (the church is about six city blocks).  I thought that it was nice.

Then, fall came along.  I saw the same girl do her usual routine, bundled up to  go to church.  At this point, I was impressed.  The girl does not own a car.  She will walk to church every Sunday without fail.  Rain or Shine.

The kicker was when we had a blizzard and there on the ground are several feet of snow.  She walked out of her apartment navigating through the snow and ice… yes, for the same reason – to go to church.

My friends from Houston are doing well. I’m glad for them.

I met a guy about three years ago at a party.  He is from Venezuela.  I didn’t even think he was my type at the time but somehow, we hit it off really well during the party.  He asked for my number and I didn’t think any of it.  Before you know it, we were hanging out, working out together, going shopping together.  We became very close.

In the process, I believe I must have fallen in love.  He is about six feet tall, well-built and works for an international company that specializes in rebuilding and reconstruction.  He’s well-off and from someone who came from Venezuela, he attained the American dream.

I feel like spring cleaning already!

Published by under Random Thoughts

Maybe it’s cabin fever or maybe, I’m just tired of all the clutter in my house that I feel like spring cleaning already.

You see, I’m not a hoarder – at least I don’t think so.  But things accumulate very fast and if I don’t keep up with it, piles and piles of papers and other stuff accumulates and when it gets so burdensome to do something about it – I may stop caring.

So, I’ve trained myself to always keep up with the clutter.  I throw many things away every day.   Junk mail never even make it to my house.  It goes from the mailbox right into the trash.   Keeping up with the little things like that prevent my house from getting so disorganized.

So far these are the things I am inclined to do when I finally start my spring cleaning: All I had to do is do a web search using these keywords:
