I was speaking to a friend of mine who has the same passion for Ebay than I do. We got into talking about his latest acquisitions and throughout the history of our purchases from Ebay, he seems to have the best of luck in purchasing items at the lowest price possible. He recently purchased a statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague which is an exact replica of the original. No cracks or chips. $250.00 USD.
I wanted to have the same statue as well but the prices for one that is similar to his acquisition is at the range of $600.00 and up (starting bid).
We got into talking about his past purchases and I noticed that he had acquired very rare pieces of anything and everything for almost nothing at all. I mentioned to him that maybe the reason for him to be so lucky is because of his devotion to prayer. He has a devotion to the child Jesus and the Virgin Mary. He silently says a prayer at the strike of 3:00 p.m. every afternoon to the Divine Mercy.
Our conversation got interesting when his response took me by surprise. He humbled himself and said that he believes his fortune does not come because he is prayerful. “I simply believe that God is good,” he said to me. “There is nothing that would be enough for Him that I can do in order for me to deserve his love,” he added.
That statement of his made me stop and think. He is absolutely correct. I can pray all day and all night and it will still be insufficient for me to deserve God’s forgiveness and love. Whatever we receive in life is all done through God’s grace. To believe that God is a loving God is enough.
I thought to myself, “Maybe I have been unaware of it but it’s absolutely true! God has blessed me so much even when I do not deserve it.”
At that very moment, I paused and thanked God for all the blessings that He has given me. Blessings which I do not deserve but is given to me because of His love and His grace alone.
At the end of our conversation, after we hung up the phone, I realized how much God loves all of us despite our weaknesses and sin. He is always there, ready to shower us and bless us regardless of what we’ve done in the past, doing in the present and will do in the future.
All I have to do believe in His love and know that I will be blessed no matter what. God is good. God is so good.
Take the time to realize that fact. Watch His blessings come your way in more ways than you can imagine.
