The smell of coffee – hmmmm!! We are all coffee lovers right? I like my cafe latte with no foam. How do you like yours?

The other day, I left work early to meet a colleague and we decided to go to Starbucks for a cup of coffee. We just need to catch up and talk about things that are happening in my life right now. He is a very good friend of mine and he’s straight by the way. He has known that I’m gay for about ten years now and he has accepted me exactly as I am and treated me the way he treated me before he even knew that I am gay. I love him for that.

Anyway, I recently broke up with my boyfriend of four years so I knew that we had lots to talk about. I normally don’t drink espresso but this time, I knew we were in the conversation for the long haul. He was very patient with me and just let me talk while he listened. I think that is what broken-hearted people do – they need someone to listen. They don’t need advice because what’s done is done and they can pretty much figure out for themselves what is good for them. I appreciated that he just listened to me. What I didn’t know was that the espresso kicked in and I was sounding more happy than sad. I was bouncing off the wall but I loved it.

Now I can’t think of anything to drink at a coffee house except espresso. It has a different kick to it and although it is not cafe latte, I enjoyed it so much I started pricing espresso machines. Yes!! It is good to have an espresso in the middle of a lazy afternoon specially now that winter is near. Wouldn’t it be nice if I could make my own espresso at home and sit by the window sill and watch the snow come down? Sheesh – - I am longing for winter and espresso now.

Anyway, I just had to write it down so I can remember the feeling of how good the espresso and the conversation was that I had with my buddy. It may not be the espresso but at least I could always refer back to this post and relive this moment. Nice huh?!

This is a sponsored post.
